NH BOW — Bow recycling committee requires ID at October hazardous waste day. The Recycling and Solid Waste Committee voted unanimously on June 30 to require identification at the October 17 Household Hazardous Waste Day to limit participation to Bow and Dunbarton residents. Sherri Cheney reported that TerraCycle can collect batteries, light bulbs, propane tanks, helium tanks, and fire extinguishers for $125 the Monday after HHWD, or interim Dunbarton transfer-station manager Greg Rule may arrange disposal.
The committee will decide between the options at its September 1 meeting. In May, the town collected 60.24 tons of single stream recycling and 186.64 tons of trash at tipping fees averaging $129.56 per ton.
