Water rate study recommended after decades without increases

NH BOW — Bow water committee advances rate study and infrastructure projects. At the April 8 meeting, the Drinking Water Protection Committee, led by Chair Cindy Klevens with members Tom O'Donovan, Greg Colby, and Ken Conaty, recommended the town hire a consultant to perform a water rate study, citing system fees that have not increased in many years and lag behind other water departments. The committee also advanced three infrastructure projects: a watermain extension to Bow Junction requiring state funding approval by May 1, a Hooksett extension now at 60 percent design completion, and pursuit of a Route 3A low-salt protection zone.
The committee identified service deficiencies in the current operator contract, particularly in sewer operations and water billing.
