CIP Committee increases fire capital reserve, addresses ambulance dropout

NH BOW — Capital Improvements Committee increases Fire Department reserves, addresses equipment delays. The Bow Capital Improvements Plan Committee increased the Fire Department's annual capital reserve fund contribution by $25,000 to $300,000, addressing a projected substantial deficit beginning in 2035-2036, after Fire Chief Dennis Comeau reported that the selected contractor for Ambulance A-1 replacement had dropped out without notice. The Committee also approved accelerating the replacement of the one-ton Utility Truck T-9 to 2028-2029 from the previously scheduled 2029-2030 timeline and deferred street sweeper replacement for one year to evaluate leasing versus contracting options.
The estimated cost of the Bow Bog Road culvert project, which was approved at the 2026 Town Meeting, was increased to $800,000.
