Bow Conservation Commission approves landfill solar project

Conservation Commission · Meeting of June 15, 2026

NH BOW — Bow Conservation Commission approves solar array on landfill with environmental conditions. The project, presented by Kearsarge Energy with engineering firm Weston & Sampson, requires additional review of tree removal and economic impact. Commissioners voted 4-0-1, with Chair Sandy Crystall abstaining, to approve the wetland permit for approximately 800 square feet of buffer impact.

The applicant estimated that retaining shade-creating trees could reduce first-year revenue by roughly 25,000 dollars and result in estimated twenty-year lost revenue of 640,000 dollars, which commissioners requested be analyzed in detail.
