Heritage Commission increases budget, eyes National Register status

NH BOW — Bow Heritage Commission approves budget increase, launches National Register effort. The commission voted unanimously to increase its annual operating budget to $2,000 from $750 for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026, and authorized spending for members to attend a Preservation Regulatory Tools workshop in Wolfeboro on January 24. Chair Eric Anderson said the Select Board accepted the budget recommendation.
The commission established six 2026 goals including launching the process to list the Bow Bog Meeting House on the National Register of Historic Places and conducting interviews with town residents about local history.
